Funeral service for Jerry Raymond Schmoll will be 11 a.m., Tues., March 26, at First Baptist Church of Chelsea. Burial will follow at Chelsea Cemetery under the direction of the Chelsea Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Mon. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 6-8 p.m.
Jerry passed away Thurs., March 21, 2013, at Tulsa Nursing Center at the age of 75.
The son of Alfred Raymond and Cecil "Imogene" (Aleshire) Schmoll was born Jan. 31, 1938, in Tulsa. He attended elementary school in Bushyhead. While attending Chelsea High School he played basketball and baseball. He graduated in 1956. After high school he helped his dad for a short time building houses. He then went on to work for Tulsa Winch as a machinist. Over the next 30 years that he worked for them they became, Tulsa Products, and then, Sperry Vickers. After his retirement he went to work for Gear Products and retired for the final time in the early 1990's. On Feb. 21, 1958, Jerry married Joyce Leathers and they made their home in Tulsa. He loved coaching Little League baseball and basketball, watching his granddaughters softball, coon and quail hunting, and tending his garden.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Hazel Stephens.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce of the home; sons: Scott Schmoll and wife, Cari of Sperry, Doug Schmoll of Tulsa, and Tim Schmoll and wife, Lisa of Granby, MO; brother, Donnie Schmoll and wife, Bille of Rose; sister, Joan Harrell and husband, J.L. of Chelsea; grandchildren: Kimberly Alexander and husband, Justin, and Kali Schmoll; and great-grandchildren: Mason and Alyssa Alexander.
