Jesse Lee Jackson passed away on September 18, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born on November 21, 1952, in Tulsa, OK, and grew up in Claremore. Jesse graduated from Claremore High School in 1970.
After high school, Jesse proudly served in the Army during the Vietnam War and later joined the Marine Corps. Following his military service, he earned a Master's degree in psychology from Illinois State University.
Upon returning to Claremore, Jesse accepted the call to ministry and spent over 21 years evangelizing. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, visiting casinos, watching westerns and horror movies, and spending time with his family. He especially cherished barbecuing, traveling, and cooking for his loved ones.
Jesse's greatest joy was his family, particularly his grandchildren, whom he adored.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jessie Faye Riley, his wife, Yvonne Jackson, and his granddaughter, Nicole Shyann Jackson.
He is survived by his father, Gerome Riley; his children, David Ford, Evonna Ford, Shereatha Ford, Jesse Jackson, and Keishonna Jackson; numerous grandchildren, and great-grandson AJ Cole.
