Relatives and friends of Jessie Lee (Morgan) Lock are invited to celebrate her life and all the love she gave at a memorial service 11 a.m., Sat., Jan. 8, at the Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Chapel.
Jessie went to be with the Lord on Dec. 30, 2010, at the Wood Manor Nursing Home at the age of 86.
The only of child of F. "Dude" and Elma Opal (Dennis) Morgan was born on March 17, 1924, in Sequoyah. She attended Sequoyah schools, graduating in 1942. She married her high school sweetheart, A.C. Lock, Jr., a marriage that spanned 65 plus years.
Jessie Lee was the woman behind the man. She kept a low profile but was highly involved in the decision making of his career moves. They spent 35 years in Memphis, TN. She was a homemaker until her daughter married. She then accompanied A.C. on his business trips. She was his GPS.
A wonderful hostess, she welcomed friends and relatives who visited their beautiful home. She acted as tour guide throughout the state. It was nothing to take guests 200 miles to a favorite catfish or Bar-b-que restaurant.
Jessie Lee was very active in her church, teaching Sunday school and Bible school.
She had numerous charities they supported, her favorite being St. Jude's and Sequoyah Alumni.
In 2002, the Lock's returned to Claremore to live on her parents 66 Ranch in the Sequoyah area.
They transferred their church memberships to Sequoyah Baptist. Although her health did not allow her to be active, she was always there in spirit.
Jessie Lee is preceded in death by her husband; and infant son, Aaron.
She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Ann and son-in-law, William Gregory; granddaughter, Carre Clayton of Memphis; grandson, Nathan Gregory and wife, Melissa and daughter, Audrey of McLean, VA; and her guardians, Don and Pat Dennis.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sequoyah Baptist Church or Sequoyah Alumni Scholarship Fund.
