Funeral service for Jewell Maude Nolan will be 10 a.m., Mon., March 19, at the Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Chapel with Pastor Charles Ragland officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sun. 1-6 p.m., and family will greet friends 4-6 p.m.
Jewell died Tues., March 13, 2012, at Hillcrest Hospital Claremore at the age of 91.
The daughter of Walter Lee and Ida Mae (Grigg) Elliott was born May 21, 1920, in Winganon. Jewell attended school in Winganon. On April 15, 1942, she married Herman Wilson Nolan in Oologah. They made their home in Oologah before moving to Claremore, where Jewell worked for the Claremore schools as a cook for many years. She retired in the early 70's. Jewell loved taking care of her family. She enjoyed crocheting and doing crafts with her husband. Everyone in her family has received an afghan from her. She also enjoyed traveling and spending time in Eureka Springs and Branson.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Herman; her parents; and brothers: Roy Delozier, Dorsey Delozier, Floyd Delozier, Jesse Elliott, Cecil Elliott, and twin brothers, Charles and Carl Elliott.
Jewell is survived by her children: Peggy Dary and husband, Gene, and Leon Nolan and wife, Linda all of Claremore; grandchildren: Christopher Nolan and wife, Kari of Wichita, KS, Robert Nolan of Oklahoma City, Mike Dary and wife, Stephanie of Claremore, and Scott Dary of Claremore; 6 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
