Visitation for Jim "Junior" Burchett will be held at MMS-Payne Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Claremore, OK, Monday, March 21, 1:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 22, at Trinity Holiness Church, Chelsea, OK. Burial with military honors by the U.S. Army will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery, Collinsville, OK.
Jim passed away at his home Friday, March 18, 2016, at the age of 66.
The son of Edgar James "Ed" Burchett and Lois Mae (Donaldson) Burchett was born April 17, 1949, in Vinita, Ok. He graduated from Chelsea High School in 1966, and went to work with the Chelsea grocery store for several years. He married his first wife, Brenda Kay Dick, and they made their home in Claremore, OK before moving to Owasso, OK in 1984. Jim was drafted to serve in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and served until his discharge in 1971. He then went to work for Git-N-Go where he remained for 33 years. In 1992, Jim became acquainted with a manager at one of his stores, Tamera Lynn Lambrecht. They were married in 2006 in Eureka Springs and made their home in the Catoosa area. He retired in 2004 as Director of Merchandising for Git-N-Go. He later worked for Vantage, distributing baseball cards throughout the Tri-states, and driving cars for Enterprise Rent-A-Car. Jim was an avid sports fan. He loved watching and cheering for OU, New York Yankees, and Dallas Cowboys.
Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Burchett; daughter, Tara Rae Burchett; and granddaughter, Kayla Renee Burchett.
He is survived by his wife, Tamera of the home; daughter, Tessa Amaro of Owasso, Ok; step-sons; Robb Lambrecht and wife, Kaila of Bozeman, MT, and Brandon Lambrecht of Houston, TX; father, Edgar Burchett and wife, Betty of Miami; and grandchildren, Adrian Amaro of Tulsa, Ok, and Cruz and Kara Amaro of Owasso, Ok.
