The son of Garland and Leona McCombs Boyd was born February 24, 1933 at home in Wingonon. As he became older he attended Winganon and Talala schools. He was raised helping his parents operate the families dairy farm. Later he met a local girl named Frances Roberts. They later married and made their home in the Delaware area. They began running their own dairy farm. After a few years running the dairy, Jimmy began working as a pipefitter and boilermaker. This job took him all over the country to places such as Alaska, Iraq and the Soltron of Aman. Jim was known to many as a workaholic. He was still working as a boilermaker, and was set to take off on another job in the near future. In his spare time, Jimmy enjoyed many activities, but rodeoing, quail hunting and gardening were his favorites. He was also a 32 degree mason, and a member of the Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Garland and Leona Boyd, and brothers Garland and Vernon Boyd.
