Funeral service for Jimmy "Jim" Hinkle will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Chapel. Burial will follow at Lone Elm Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Fri. 1-5 p.m., and family will greet friends 1-2 p.m.
Jim passed away February 27, 2012 in Tulsa at the age of 59.
The son of Roscoe and Anna Rose Magrum Hinkle was born May 15, 1952 in Toledo, Ohio. In 1967 he and his family moved to Oklahoma. They made their home in the Claremore area. As he became older he learned to weld. He became employed with Bradem Steel, where he worked for several years. Later he became a skilled mason, laying rock and brick for many people in the area. In his spare time he loved to work on old cars and trucks, build things in his shop, ride motorcycles and fish, but most of all he loved being with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his parents Roscoe and Anna Rose Hinkle, sons, Jody Smith and wife Courtni, Jamie Hinkle and wife Cheryl, James Hinkle, and John Hinkle all of Claremore; daughter, Julia Leeper and husband Matt of Owasso; sister, Bonnie Clark of Claremore; grandchildren, Allissa, Hunter, Jaiden, Lyla, Erin, Emily, Mersaydez, Lily, Ethan, Anniki, Chevy, Alyzza, Ella and Arianne, great-grandchildren, Payton and Braiden; special niece, Karla Barclay and husband, Justin of Claremore, and her children, K.C. and Brandi.
