Funeral services for Jim Robinson will be held 11:00 Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at the MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Jimmy Gann Robinson passed away after a short battle with cancer on December 8, 2013 at his home in Jenks at the age of 67.
Jim was born in Claremore on October 4, 1946. He was the son of Dyke and Opal Gann Robinson. He was raised in Claremore, and attended Claremore High graduating in 1964. Wanting to continue his education he enrolled in college at the Oklahoma Military Academy. After a short time there he transferred to Oklahoma State University. His time there was brief, and Jim was called to serve his country. He served 14 months in Viet Nam. Upon his discharge Jim returned to Oklahoma. He returned to college at Northeastern State University and earned his degree in business. His working career began in the Tulsa area. There he worked as a Transportation Manager before retiring just a few years ago. He was also an avid golfer, who hit the local courses as often as possible. However spending time with his grandchildren and family is what he loved the most.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dyke and Opal Robinson.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann of the home, son Rodney and his wife Carrie and grandson Bryar of Claremore, daughter Robyn Dennis and her husband Tony and grandson Skylar and granddaughter Cloe of Claremore, step-daughter Sherri Young and her husband Trevor of Jenks, brothers Van and his wife Linda of Claremore and Ron and his wife Carol of Houston, and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
