Joan Sixkiller went to be with her Heavenly Father on April 17, 2020. She joined her love, Emory Sixkiller, and her first son, Johnnie Joe Sixkiller.
She was born May 18, 1932. She was raised in Ponca City, OK. She and Emory married and eventually settled in Claremore to raise their family. They spent many years on their small farm north of Claremore raising 6 children, gardening and caring for their livestock. She loved to sew, quilt, crochet, and paint, amongst numerous other craft projects. She collected antiques, and for a few years, had a store in downtown Claremore selling antiques and crafts. She spent many hours baking, cooking, gardening, and canning to provide not only for her family, but to share with her friends and neighbors too. She took care of everyone who touched her life. She had a giving soul and would take care of anyone who needed her help.
Joan loved her children, and she loved her grandchildren even more. She always had the biggest smiles when she was with her grandchildren. She loved to share her passion for sewing and artwork with them. And they never left her home hungry!
Joan will be remembered fondly for her love and dedication to her family. We are so thankful in the knowledge that she is now healed and whole in the presence of the Lord.
