Joe Lyndell Burrows

Funeral service for Joe Burrows will be held 1:00pm Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at the MMS-Payne Funeral home. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, October 23, 2017 from 4pm-8pm.
Mr. Burrows passed away peacefully on October 18th at his home in Claremore at the age of 85.
He was born to Louis Joseph and Vinita Clair (Tusing) on July 2nd 1932. He attended Claremore schools and graduated in 1950. In May 1951 he joined the United States Air Force as a clerk typist then later trained as a radar technician. Joe married his young red headed darling Muril in May 1955. His AF career took them around the world for 26 years. They had their two sons, Bob and Greg, during this time. Joe retired as a Master Sergeant in 1977 and moved to Claremore, Oklahoma where he built his home. Joe spent his retirement in building projects, video editing, traveling, gardening and caring for his granddaughters.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son-Bob, wife-Muril, and sister-Betty.
Survivors include; son, Greg Burrows; grandchildren, Krissi Gibson and husband Rex, Kaycie Weber and husband Kirk, Brittany Burrows and husband Tyler-all of Claremore; great-grandchildren, Carter, Brooklynn and Blakely Gibson, and Kambel Weber; sisters, Nita Mooney and Bonnie Talbot.
