Funeral service for Joe “Arlo” Hill will be 11 a.m., Sat., April 3, at First Christian Church with Rev. Henry Lawton Wood officiating. Burial will follow at the Stone Family Cemetery, Locust Grove, under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Fri. 1-8 p.m.
Arlo died Tues., March 30, 2010, at the age of 32.
The son of Joe Willard and Nancy Rae (Wood) Hill was born Dec. 5, 1977, in Claremore. Arlo graduated from Sequoyah High School in 1997, where he played baseball and trumpet in the band. He continued his education at NEO A&M. Arlo had worked as an electrical engineer and as an auto painter & bodywork with IC of Oklahoma. He excelled in Tae Kwon Do earning a black belt, and loved Mustangs. He also enjoyed golfing, NASCAR, Jimmy Johnson, and playing horseshoes.
Arlo is preceded in death by his great-grandparents: Florence Billings, Lawton and Lois Wood, and Willard Stone.
He is survived by his father, Joe Hill of Locust Grove; mother and step-father, Nancy and Ken Williams of Claremore; brother, Josh Hill and wife, Tiffany of Claremore; nephews: Levi Ables of Tulsa, Jeremiah Hill of Claremore, and Jacob Hill of Claremore; beloved companion, Melanie Holliday of Claremore; grandparents: Joe and Marlita Hill of Claremore, Sophia Irene Montgomery of Chouteau, and Lynn and Lorene Wood of Coffeyville, KS; Godparents: Dwight Stone and Traci Rabbit of Locust Grove; step-brothers: Chris and Matt Williams of Claremore; step-sister, Shannon Peterman of Tulsa; and an endless list of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
