Memorial service for John Gilbert "Johnny" Carpenter will be 10 a.m., Tues., March 15, at the Loyal Shawnee Community Building, White Oak, with Rev. Chiefie Tiger officiating.
Johnny died Tues., March 1, 2011, at his home at the age of 73.
The son of Ross and Nedith Marie (Gibson) Carpenter was born Oct. 25, 1937, at the Claremore Indian Hospital. Johnny grew up in White Oak and Tulsa. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, and later worked as a taxi cab driver in Tulsa.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings: Ross, Jr., Anthony, and Ronnie.
Johnny is survived by his siblings: LaVerne Stone of Tulsa, Paul Carpenter of Shawnee, and Meredith Carpenter and wife, Tina of Arkansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
