Funeral service for John Micheal Humler will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2019 at the Chelsea High School Gymnasium. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at The Chelsea Funeral Home.
John Micheal Humler passed away on February 11th, 2019 at the age of 20.
The son of John Humler and Mandy Knight Anderson was born January 31, 1999 in Knoxville, Tennessee. At a young age he and his mother moved back to Chelsea. A few years later at the age of 4, John Micheal gained a new father when Mandy married Luke Anderson. In the years to follow John Micheal would attend Chelsea public schools. During this time he participated in many activities. It first started by joining 4H, where he and Luke would travel all over the country showing hogs on a national level. This helped him earn the nickname of John Pig from his friends.
As he became older he began playing sports. Basketball, football, and power lifting were a few of his favorites. However, track might have been what he excelled at the most. He was a natural at the hurdles, and was a 3 time state qualifier. After graduating from Chelsa High School in 2018, John Micheal began attending Rogers State University. There he was studying Criminal Law. Apart from his athletic abilities and his infectious smile, John Micheal possessed many great traits. Things such being an inspiration to many kids, his willingness to help anyone in need, the way he made people feel special, and the way he loved his family.
John also had many hobbies and past times he enjoyed, such as playing pool, washers, and video games. He also enjoyed duck hunting, and just about any thing he could do outdoors.
He is preceded in death by his father, John Richard Humler Jr.
Survivors include his parents, Mandy and Luke Anderson; sisters, Morgan and Paige Anderson; grandparents, Mary Jane Knight, Bob and Melissa Anderson, and John and Pam Humler; aunts and uncles, Kari Cagle, Adam and Jenny Anderson, Jennifer Humler, Sarah Humler and Kevin Humler; and many other extended family and friends.
Memorials may be made in John's name to the Chelsea Alumni Association at P.O. Box 391 Chelsea, OK 74016. A scholarship fund will be made in his honor.
