Johnnie Mae Foster Johnson, 88 died October 26th in Owasso, OK following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer Dementia. She was born near Walters, OK in 1922, one of seven children of Daniel and Lena Collier. She lived most of her adult life in Oklahoma City working during WWII at the Douglas bomber plat on the “Eagle Project”. She enjoyed preparing food for large events working for several different caterers. She moved to Claremore in 1996 to live near her son. She was preceded in death by two husbands, R. Tony Foster who died in 1966 and Louie Johnson who died in 1996. Johnnie was active in the Claremore Senior Center, serving on the Board and helping with meal preparation. She was a member of the First Methodist Church, Claremore and the Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed her grandchildren.
She had three children: Jaci M. Harris, who preceded her in death; Toney D. Foster, Owasso, OK; and Valerie M. Ciembronowicz, Rockford, IL. She had seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. She is survived by two sisters, Helen Cook of Broken Arrow and Pauline Reed of Dallas.
Funeral service will be Friday at 10:00 A.M. at Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. at Fairlawn Cemetery, Oklahoma City. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thurs. 1-8 p.m. and family will greet friends 5-6 p.m.
