Graveside service for Johnnie Mae Kilpatrick will be 2:00p.m., Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Oakhaven Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 27 from 1pm--8pm, family will receive visitors from 6pm--8pm. Johnnie passed away on Friday, December 23, 2016 at her home, with family by her side. She was 75.
Born February 12, 1941 in Foyil, Oklahoma to John Elmer and Ada Lee (Sallee) Betterton, Johnnie was reared and educated in Rogers County. She attended school at Washington Elementary, Bushyhead and later Foyil. Her first job was with McClellan's in downtown Claremore. She also worked for Best Western for 15 years and retired from Long John Silvers and A&W Root beer after 24 years of faithful service.
Johnnie loved to spend time with her family, especially her grand children. Her hobbies included bowling, watching TV and traveling. She enjoyed the sites of Arizona, Florida and California. One of her most memorable trips was when she passed through Tennessee and spent some time at Grace Land, she loved listening to Elvis.
Those family members that survive include her children Paul E. Anderson and wife Sherri of Tiawa, Larry Anderson of Verdigris, Michael Kilpatrick and wife Michelle of Bixby, Diana Purdom and Sheryl Harris and husband Rusty all of Claremore; 13 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; her sister Shairon Dickey and husband Al of Claremore and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Orville, her brothers Edward Casey and Dewayne Casey and her son-in-law William Purdom
