Joseph Patrick O' Brien, Jr. (Joe) passed away in his home in Claremore on July 27, 2018 at the age of 82. Joe was born in Hackettstown, New Jersey on October 2, 1935 to Joseph and Helen O'Brien. At the age of four, the family moved to southern New Jersey where he was educated prior to joining the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Joe served ten years as a flight engineer with duty both in the U.S. and Europe, followed by an honorable discharge in 1962. He then entered into the Recreational Vehicle industry, holding various positions, including ownership in RV dealerships and a hitch business, in Dallas, TX and Tulsa, OK.
After a short retirement, he purchased Littlefield's Steakhouse in Claremore, OK and operated it for six years, as J.P. O'Brien's Steakhouse and Pub. Not content with retirement again, he joined Dave's Claremore RV, where he spent the last 25 years. During that time, he also enjoyed traveling to other dealers around the country, while operating his consulting business, J.P. O'Brien and Associates.
Joe is survived by his Wife of 29 years, Janice Brown O'Brien, of the home, Son Joseph Patrick O'Brien, III (Pat), Daughter-In-Law, Tamara O'Brien, Granddaughters, Kaylin E. and Riley M. O'Brien, all of Tulsa, and Stepson, Michael H. Zacharias, of Claremore.
Memorial service will held at St. Cecilia Catholic Church on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 4PM. Burial is to be in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery, Fort Gibson, OK on August 7, 2018.
