Service for Joyce Imogene Westenhaver will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 29, 2017 at Chelsea Funeral Home Chapel, followed by a celebration of life at her home. Friends and Family may visit at the funeral home on Thursday, December 28th, from 10:00 am-4:00 pm.
Joyce Westenhaver, 85, passed away Tuesday, December 19th at her home in Chelsea, OK.
Joyce was born November 19, 1932 in Winganon, OK to Juanita (Douglas) and Robert Shirley Moore. After marrying her high school sweetheart, Darrell Westenhaver, in 1951, the couple moved around for a few years while Darrell was in the military, finally moving to Colorado where they lived for 20 years, while raising their two children, Charlotte and Roger.
After Darrell retired, he and Joyce moved back to Chelsea where they built a home and enjoyed the country life. Joyce was a successful insurance adjuster/secretary for over 60 years, finally retiring at the age of 81 from Fraley’s Insurance.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, John, Donald, and Lester; sister-in-law, Wilma; and son-in-law, Mark. She is survived by her two children; three grandchildren, Victoria, Michelle, and Matthew; sisters-in-law, Edna Mae and Raelene; daughter-in-law, Jennifer; and numerous other family members and friends.
Joyce loved her large, extended family and will be missed by all who knew her.
