Funeral service for James Phillip "J.P." England will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 12, at the House of Prayer with Pastor Richard Hubbard officiating. Burial will follow at Lone Chapel Cemetery, Adair, under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home 1-8 p.m. Monday, and family will greet friends 5-8 p.m.
J.P. passed away Fri., March 8, 2013, at St. John Hospital, Tulsa, at the age of 69.
The son of Phillip Chandler and Margie Jane (Tullock) England was born Sept. 11, 1943, in Chelsea. He attended Bushyhead School and Chelsea High School. On Sept. 18, 1961, J.P. married Betty Irene Patton and they made their home in Foyil. They owned England Enterprise. J.P. enjoyed working all the time. In his spare time, he enjoyed doing beadwork, playing the electric bass and dobro, and singing for the Lord. He was a member of the House of Prayer.
J.P. is preceded in death by his parents; and grandson, Phillip Blake England.
He is survived by his wife, Betty of the home; children: Betty Jane "Janie" Chaney and husband, George, Rosetta Jean England, and Phillip Allen England all of Foyil; sisters: Norma Jean Wilson and husband, Melvin of Catoosa, and LaQuetta Jane Willis and husband, Keith of Claremore; 9 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
