Funeral service for Juanita Rader will be 11 a.m., Wed., Dec. 28, at Sequoyah Baptist Church with Revs. Pat Ward and Mike Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tues. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 6-8 p.m.
Juanita died Fri., Dec. 23, 2011, at Claremore Nursing Home at the age of 86.
The daughter of Albert Lee and Nannie (Lamb) Mohon was born Oct. 26, 1925, in the Sequoyah area. Juanita attended Sequoyah Schools, graduating in 1944. She continued her education at Northeastern State University, Tahlequah, receiving her degree in education. On April 12, 1945, at Foyil Baptist Church, Juanita married George Rader. Juanita was a teacher at Westside Elementary, Foyil, and Tiawah schools, where she taught 1st through 4th grades. In 1986, she retired after 32 years of teaching. Juanita was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, and the Claremore Hospital Auxilliary where she served for 18 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, and reading.
Juanita is preceded in death by her husband, George S. in 1980; her parents; grandson, Rocky Ross; sisters: Lena Maxey and Myrtle Barry; and brothers: Paul, Albert, and Basil Mohon.
She is survived by her children: Mary Ann Casey and husband, Joe Ray of Claremore; Bill Rader and wife, Thressa of Claremore and Mohona Sue Casse' and husband, Chuck of Chelsea; grandchildren: Chris Rader and wife Lisa, Travis Ross and wife Nicole, Kelli Rader, and Georgeanna Casey; great-grandchildren: Jake Rader, Jesse Rader, Jasper Rader, and Lane Ross; and nephews: Raymond Barry, Jim Bill Maxey, Bob Barry, and Gene Mohon.
