Judith Rose Koster passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones October 22, 2020, at her home. She was 78 years young.
Judi spent her final years being a nanny, crocheting and eating at her favorite places. She was a strong woman remembered for saying quite a bit, but mostly for things like, “Tighten up your boot straps” and “This too shall pass”.
Judi was born January 9, 1942. Married in May of 1958, Judi had her first child at 20 and soon acquired her license as an LPN. She devoted her life to nursing, at least a good 40 years of it, and was happy to take care of others. She began her career at Claremore Regional Hospital and ended it at Claremore Nursing Home, where she was able to keep an eye on her own mother.
An active member of Memorial Heights Baptist Church, Judi loved to travel, her grandchildren, God and Willie Nelson.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother Russell & Rovetta Eastman, husband Lyle Koster and daughter Lisa Breen. She is survived by her brother Brad Eastman of Salina, children Tama (Jon) Breen of Claremore, Kirk (Gina) Koster of Claremore, Joe (Yve) Koster of Oologah, Kris (Stefanie) Koster of Jenks, and son-in-law James Breen of Claremore. She will also be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Amber Asbury, Beth Keesler, June Thomas, Jacob Koster, Reagan Koster, Koty Koster, Jake Koster, Faith Koster, Gavyn Koster, Michael Koster, Cole Orosco, Kade Koster, Hailey Lawrence, Ethan Reynolds and Morgan Bible. As well as her great-grandchildren Lexi Keesler, Bryson Thomas, Alayna Keesler, Corbin Thomas and Ethan Raith.
Visitation for Judi will be held Wednesday, October 28, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Musgrove Merriott Smith-Payne Funeral Home, 102 W 5th Street, Claremore. Family will be in attendance from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
A funeral service in memory of Judi will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at 2:00 p.m., at Memorial Heights Baptist Church, 1500 W Will Rogers Blvd, Claremore. Interment will follow the service and is for family only. Celebration of Judi’s life will also follow the service at her daughters home, 13405 E 463 Road, Claremore.
