Judy Lynn Bethel

Celebration for life of Judy Lynn Bethel will be 3:00p.m., Thursday, September 17, 2020 at First Baptist Church, Claremore. There will be a reception to follow at 320 On Main in Claremore. Judy met her savior on Sunday, September 13, 2020.  She was 66.

Judy Lynn Bethel was born July 20, 1954 in Blytheville, Arkansas to Paul Adrian and Ethel Maude (Cole) Burks. She attended school in Blytheville and graduated with the class of 1972.  During the summer of 1978 she met her love of 41 years Mark Alan Bethel and the couple married on June 9, 1979 and lived in Blytheville until 1983.  Claremore became home in 1983 and has been their home since.

In 1985 Judy opened a home day care and over the years she helped raise well over 100 kids.  She loved and cared for each child like they were her own and in return Ms. Judy was loved by all who met her.  Her cooking and baking was a treat to any lucky enough to enjoy them. Judy was a great seamstress and quilt maker and loved spending time in her garden. Her nurturing and loving spirit shined bright through everything she did. She did for everyone before herself.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Martha Ann Gatlin.  Those who survive include her husband Mark of their home; children Clayre Messenger and husband Josh, Adrienne Bethel and Bryce Bethel; brothers Paul Adrian Burks, Jr. and Dan Burks (wife Mary); sister Betty Carol Garrett and honorary sister Mary Ann Blunt as well as many nieces and nephews.
