June Medlock passed away on Sunday, September 6th, 2020 at the age of 91.
The daughter of James and Ella Londagin was born June 19, 1929 in Henryetta, Oklahoma. There she would later attend school, graduating with the class of 1947. After graduating June continued her education at Northeastern State College in Tahlequah. Upon completing her schooling, June began looking for her first teaching job. In just a short time she found that job at Gregory school just outside of Inola. She quickly settled into her new role and became a part of the community. It was also there that she would meet Grady Medlock. The two began dating and married in 1951. The newlywed couple would plant their roots in the town of Inola. Over the next several years June would leave her career behind and focus on her growing family. After her children got older she returned to work. She took a job working as a teaching assistant for 13 years at Inola Schools. After retiring, June would take a couple of other jobs to stay busy. She worked at the Broadway Cafe, before taking a job with the Inola Funeral Home in 1997 as an office manager.
In her spare time June enjoyed many things. She loved cooking and baking; a few of her favorite items were popcorn balls and peanut brittle. She also enjoyed going antique shopping, always looking for vintage plates with chicken prints. However, time with her family is what she enjoyed the most.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Grady, siblings, Jim Londagin, Louise Berry, Polly Gossage, and Ann Carson, and son-in-law, Bob Kahanek.
Survivors include her children, Gary Medlock and wife Judy, and Sally Kahanek; grandchildren, Cary Cook and husband Chad, and Katy Castleman and husband Jason; great-grandchildren, Chloe and Colby Cook and Grady and Charlie Castleman, and sisters, Pat Simmons, and Sue Stinson.
