Junior Riley Taber passed away on August 11, 2022 he was 90 years old. Junior was born in Peel, Arkansas to Riley and Rebecca Taber. He grew up and attended school in Arkansas. Shortly after high school he felt the call of service to serve his country and join the Army, were he fought in the Korean War. He had several careers over the years, he worked security for Fiber Cast, the Auto- Pride Car Wash and retired as a Welder at NATCO. During his retirement years, He worked at Goodwill for some time.
Junior had many hobbies over his time, he was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Bixby, Oklahoma. He loved to hunt and fish, Play softball and travel. He also loved to be the song director at his church. Junior also enjoyed traveling to Branson and going to the Yellowstone national park.
He his preceded in death by his parents, Riley and Rebecca; first wife Florene Taber, five brothers, 3 sisters, and step daughter Laura Long.
Junior is survived by his wife, Ima Long- Taber, daughters Evelyn Lay and husband Allen, Paula A. Griffin and husband Ronnie, Sheryl Wilson, and Melissa Payne; Son Benny Taber and wife Sandy; 14 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
