Funeral service for Kenith Edward Smith will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday June 2, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Inola. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Claremore.

Kenith Smith was born on February 7, 1945 in Catoosa, Oklahoma. Around the age of 5 he and his family moved to the Inola area and attended Inola schools. As his senior year approached, he decided to move to Sedan, Kansas. There, his brother owned a service station, and he began working for him and finished his senior year in Sedan graduating as a member of the class of 1963. After graduation, Kenith joined the United States Air force. December 6, 1966 while on military leave he married Karen Dick. The newly wed couple moved to Fairfield, California where Kenith was stationed. Upon discharge Kenith and his family returned to Kansas. Again, he began helping his brother manage some local service station. Eventually, he moved to Thayer where he began working for Ash Grove Cement. He retired in 2003 after 34 years of service. He then moved to Tiawah to his current home.

In his spare time Kenith had many hobbies and interest. He loved being outside, playing games such as horseshoes, softball, and basketball. He not only played games with his children, but all the neighborhood kids as well. He also enjoyed skiing and eating ice cream.

Kenith was a loyal servant to his church, Inola First Baptist Church where he occasionally taught Sunday School, and helped during vacation Bible School.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Daisy Smith and brother-in-law Denis Dick.

Survivors include his wife Karen; daughters Stacy Arnold and husband Lynn and Angie Atkinson and husband Chuck; son Scott Smith and wife Vicki; brothers Ennis Smith, Gerald Smith, Jim Smith, Willard Smith; sisters Fern Cornellus, Lucille Miles, Doris Miller, Mary Mayfield, Earline Stout, Pat Newton, Glenna Lynch; grandchildren Jacob, Jonathan, Stephanie, Erin, Jossie; brother-in- laws, Wayne Dick and Marvin Dick; and sister-in-law, DeeAnna Leigh.
