Kenneth Doyle Breshears

Funeral service for Claremore resident Kenneth "Doyle" Breshears will be 11:00 am Thursday, July 26, 2018, at MMS-Payne Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 25 from 1-8 pm, with family greeting friends from 6-8 pm.
Doyle passed away at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa on Monday, July 23, 2018. He was 76 years old.
The son of Gilbert Minard Breshears and Velma Doris (Hylton) Breshears was born on May 30, 1942, in Ava, Missouri. This is where he grew up and attended school. As a young boy he grew up working on the farm. He was able to do everything from milking the cows to baling hay. After his education was finished, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he proudly served his country.
After his discharge from the Army, Doyle moved to Tulsa to be near his brother. He began working for Rocket Freight Company. Throughout his career, he also worked for Churchill Freight, Chief Freight, and finally retired from Yellow Freight Company in 1998.
While working for Rocket freight, a coworker set him up on a blind date with his sister Dian Baldridge. The pair hit it off and were married on March 14, 1964. The couple made their home in Tulsa, a short time before moving to Pryor and eventually settling in Claremore.
In his spare time, Doyle enjoyed fixing things and helping people. He considered himself a simple man. He also enjoyed garage sales and camping, usually at Oologah Lake. He had a love for watching the birds that congregated at his feeders, as well.
Doyle is preceded in death by his parents Gilbert and Velma Breshears, his brothers Bill Breshears, Joe Breshears and sister Karen Paxton, and granddaughter Chrissy Esquibel.
Survivors include his wife Dian, his daughter Charlotte Velarde and husband Brandon, their children Dusty Maddox, Jacob Killough, Melanie Dodd, Chrissy Esquibel and Brylee Velarde. Son Coleston Breshears and wife Tammy, their sons Kenny Breshears and Blake Breshears. Daughter Cathryn Steeley and husband Jay,their children Kendal Moore,Jesse Myers , Lacy Tyler. Jayme Stepp. Jayson Steeley and Dusty Steeley. His brothers Ronnie Breshears and wife Nancy, Jack Breshears. And 22 great grandchildren.
