Kenneth Ray Hunter, 82, of Inola, Oklahoma left this life to be with Jesus on January 17, 2016. He was at home with his wife of 53 years, Shirley Hunter by his side.

Ken was born on May 11, 1933 in Arkansas. He joined the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. Ken and Shirley married on October 27th, 1962. In 1972 he built the home in Inola that his daughters, Kelly and Lori grew up in and he and Shirley lived in for 42 years.

Ken was a master of many things including auto mechanics and carpentry. He enjoyed gardening and loved sharing his home grown tomatoes and corn with friends and neighbors. If you knew Ken, he probably fixed something for you at some time. Through the years, Ken and Shirley and close friends Ray and Jeanne Davis enjoyed many vacations and camp-outs together in their RVs. John and Elizabeth Fair always there to help and maintained Ken’s seven acres of land when he was no longer able. Ken loved to fish and he and John spent many, many hours on the lake catching record numbers of fish. Ken’s little buddy B.J., his Yorkie was always by his side and they enjoyed countless walks and naps together.

Family members and friends were by Ken’s side during his last hours and provided much love and support to him and Shirley. A special thank you to Karolyn Zgonc, John and Elizabeth Fair, Jeanne Davis, Heather Ward, Hunter Pineiro, Lauren Lantz, Jim Page, Kirwin and Mary Jane Scott, Joel Allen Stout, Alethea Burgess, Mike Davis, Greg Ward and many others.
