Kenneth Reede Morton

Kenneth Reede Morton, 78, of Chelsea, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, 04/25/2019.
He was born to parents Nevitte Milton Morton and Lura Lavada Parton Morton, on 01/23/1941 in Asheville, North Carolina.

Kenneth served 8 ½ years in the US Air force, with tours to Vietnam and the Azores as an Aircraft Mechanic. He achieved the rank of Sergeant. His career took him to many places in the US, and 8 years in Saudi Arabia. When returning to Oklahoma, he worked as a Manager of Line Maintenance, Ground Services and Aircraft Cleaners for 20 years with American Airlines, where he retired in 2003. Kenneth was honored with many commendations and awards throughout his military service and career.

Kenneth enjoyed gardening, genealogy research, Nascar racing, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Kenneth met Janice Marie Boling Morton in 1961. They were married on April 21, 1962 in Reno, Nevada. Together they raised three children: Kenneth Wayne Morton, Sheri Lynn Morton Harner, and Vanessa Kay Morton Hagan.

Kenneth is survived by his wife: Janice, brother: Bobby & Janice T. Morton, sister: Georgia & Bill Baldwin, sisters-in-Law: Geraldine Morton, Diana & Peter Brenner, Kay & John Cables, Debbie & Dennis Hoskins, children: Kenny Morton, Sheri & Bob Harner, Vanessa & Paul Hagan, grandchildren: Alta Morton, Christy & Bob Barker, Paul & Jessa Nancarrow, Steven & Holly Nancarrow, Chelsie Harner, Tela & Mike Anderson, great-grandchildren: Tanner & Trenton Barker, Nathan, Jacob, Gaelyn, & Lincoln Nancarrow, Casey, Garrett & Lily Sullivan, Rain Troutman , great-great-grandchild: Chevy Barker.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 2nd from 1–8pm (family in attendance from 6-8pm) at MMS-Payne Funeral Home in Claremore, Oklahoma. Funeral will be held on Friday, May 3rd at 2 pm at House of Prayer Church, north of Claremore on Hwy 66, with procession to graveside services at Oakhaven Cemetery in Claremore. Denton Hubbard will officiate the ceremony.
