Kenneth was born May 1, 1942 in Claremore, Oklahoma, the son of Henry and Hazel (Eagleton) Sumter. He grew up in the Foyil area, and graduated from Foyil High School in the early 1960's. After graduation he served his country in the U.S. Army. Most of his time in the military was spent at Ft. Carson, Colorado. In October of 1971, Kenneth married Margaret Mae Newton.

Around 1978, Kenneth began working for General Acoustics, he was a general foreman until the early 1980's, when he transferred over to the newly formed sister company, Green Country Interiors, as the general superintendent. He played a key role in the success of the company and its team of employees. That company is now one of the largest in its industry in Oklahoma. He always knew everyone's name, because everyone was called Bud. Kenneth could do anything he set his mind to.

In his spare time, Kenneth enjoyed many pursuits, most of them involving the outdoors. In fact, he took every opportunity he could to have fun. In his younger days, he was a coon hunter. Later in life, he became very serious about fishing and competing in bass tournaments. He took fishing trips to places from Mexico to Florida. When he could no longer cast, he took up rabbit hunting. At one time, he owned ten beagles. He loved Christmas time, when he would decorate the entire yard with lights. He loved kids and even played Santa Claus for them. Kenneth also had a serious side. He loved his family devotedly. He helped establish an AA meeting group in Catoosa.

He was preceded in death by his parents and ten siblings.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Margaret, his son Kenny Lee Deal, two grandsons Kyle and Cody Deal, his sister Mildred Fishback, and many friends and loved ones.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Clarehouse, 7617 S. Mingo Rd., Tulsa, OK 74133.
