Funeral service for Kevin Lewis will be held 2:00 p.m Friday, March 1, 2013 at the Chelsea Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Wards Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thurs. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 6-8 p.m.

Kevin Dewayne Lewis passed away February 26, 2013 at the age of 48.

The son of Edward and Carolyn Lewis Self was born July 9, 1965 in Pryor, Oklahoma. As a young boy he was raised in the Morris area. At the age of 16 he moved to Rogers Country. He attended Foyil public schools graduating in 1984. One day at the request of one his cousins, he was introduced to Tonya Taylor. Things were a hit, and they were married August 23, 1986 in Claremore. Kevin had a strong work ethic, and quickly found work to help support his family. For over 16 years he worked at Nupar in Claremore, and worked the past 7 years for AZZ galvanizing in Chelsea. In his spare time Kevin loved smoking meats and cooking for family functions. However fishing was his true pastime. He fished when it was hot and broke ice to fish when it was cold. Anytime his family needed to find him, he could always be found at his favorite fishing hole.

He is preceded in death by is grandparents, Walter and Wilma Lewis and granddaughter, Madison Paige.

Survivors include his wife Tonya of the home; daughter Miranda Lynn Lewis and boyfriend Dalton Chenault of the home; son, Michael Andrew Lewis and wife Aelisha of Claremore; parents, Carolyn and Edward Self of Chelsea; sister, Susan Dobbs and husband Charlie of Chelsea; brother, James Self and wife Leeanna of Claremore and grandchildren, Lexxi, Savanna, Klhoe, Brandon and Allysa.
