Born February 5, 1960 in Claremore to Billy Ray and Judy Ann (Smith) Eagleton, Kim received her education from Claremore Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1978. She continued her education by attending Claremore Junior College. Kim married Dan on October 18, 1980, and the couple made their home in Claremore, where they raised their three children.
There was never any doubt that family was the most important part of Kim’s life. Her priority was always to make sure they had everything they needed, whether it be a custom birthday cake, a handmade personalized Christmas stocking, or a simple call at just the right time to say “I Love You”. She was a wonderful cook, whose chicken fried steak and made-from-scratch pie crust were second to none. When each of her kids began college at the University of Oklahoma, it was not uncommon to find her on their dorm room steps with a home cooked meal and a basket of fresh laundry…just because.
Kim enjoyed shopping, especially if she could find a sale or use a coupon to get what she needed. It was serious business, and early morning starts with the girls to beat the rush on Black Friday were a yearly ritual. Kim was known for her manicured yard and beautiful flower beds, where she spent countless hours making sure every weed was pulled and the flowers were just right. Most of her plants were found on the clearance shelves and were soon flourishing with the help of her green thumb.
Kim worked as a customer service associate at Warehouse Market for many years and loved helping and visiting with her customers. In 2011, she retired to care full-time for her mother, and they could often be found running errands around Claremore and grabbing half-priced burgers at Boomerang Diner. Kim was a hard worker her entire life, and never expected more from others than she was willing to give herself.
A loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and future Gigi will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Kim is survived by her husband Dan; children, Nathan and his wife Erin of Dallas, Texas, Meagan of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Andrew of Madison, Wisconsin; mother, Judy Eagleton of Claremore, Oklahoma; brother, Bill Eagleton and his wife Darleen of Shingle Springs, California; sister, Shelly Crum and her husband Bob of Rogers, Arkansas; and nine nieces and nephews. Kim was predeceased by her father, Billy Ray Eagleton.
