Funeral service for Lan K. Lindsay will be 10 a.m., Tues., March 11, at the MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel with his nephew, Steve Lindsay, officiating. Burial with military honors by the U.S. Army will follow at Ward’s Grove Cemetery, Foyil. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Mon. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 5-8 p.m.
Lan passed away Fri., March 7, 2014, at Claremore Veterans Center at the age of 80.
The son of David Isaac and Myrtle Irene (Ballard) Lindsay was born April 1, 1933, in Cherryvale, KS. On Feb. 14, 1959, Lan married LaDonna Sue Denton in Nowata. He served in the U.S. Army, U.S. Army Reserves, U.S. Air Force, and U.S. Navy Reserves. He served in the Korean War and retired after 34 years of service. Lan then went to work with C.W. Fiberglass Repair, retiring in 2012.
Lan was preceded in death by his wife, LaDonna; his parents; and siblings: May Brannon, Alice Cristlieb, Dee Lee Lindsay, and Samuel Lindsay.
He is survived by his children: Clyde William “C.W.” Gudde and wife, Sheila of Chelsea, John Byron “J.B.” Lindsay of Porter, and Dana “Rene” Lindsay and husband, Garry Byrns of Johnson Lake, NE; grandchildren: Mary Bowers, Trina Pouncil, Amanda Gudde, Lana Taylor, Jessica Gudde, Megan Lindsay, Karl Isaac “K.I.” Hongsermeier; great-grandchildren: Jacob Gudde, Lucas Gudde, Lan Taylor, Xander Taylor, Alyssa Pouncil, Daamian Pouncil, and DeJua Pouncil; and siblings: Iva Simmons of Independence, KS, Freda Winkleman of Cherryvale, KS, Phyllis Noland and husband, Jim of White Water, KS, and Harold “Jay” Lindsay and wife, Edith of RedBay, AL.
