Memorial Service for Larry R. Dealy, 70, a resident of Claremore for more than 30 years, will be held at 11 am, Friday, February 9, 2018 at Claremore First United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 2pm-8pm, with family greeting visitors from 6pm-8pm, at MMS-Payne Funeral Home in Claremore.
Larry passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018, in Tulsa. He was born May 2, 1947 in Iola, Kansas to William Roy Dealy and Erma June Boots Dealy. Larry was a big supporter of the Boy Scout program, having been involved as a boy, and later as a leader; guiding, directing, and shaping the lives of many young men. A very large portion of those young men made the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout.
As a general contractor for most of his adult life, Larry took great pride in creating, building, and innovating things that most people would believe to be impossible. In his words, "Where there is a will, there is a way."
Once he began to slow down from his construction work, he jumped feet first into the Claremore Meals on Wheels program. He was extremely proud to be involved with such a wonderful organization and took great pride every time they were able to secure funds for a new refrigerator or break a record on the number of pounds of food donated at a Wal-Mart food drive.
Larry is survived by his children, son Todd Dealy and wife Susie of Midwest City, Oklahoma, and daughter Shannon Fields and husband Steve of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren, and one brother, Doug Dealy and wife Kim.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents William Dealy and Erma King.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Claremore Meals on Wheels, PO Box 92, Claremore, Oklahoma 74018
