Larry Paul McClain passed away on October 11th, 2022. He was 78 years old. He was born to Charles and Pansy McClain on April 17, 1944 in Alabam, Arkansas and attended Huntsville High School. Shortly after high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and served his country proudly during the Vietnam War.
When Larry came home from the service, he took a job as a car salesman in Broken Arrow. During that time, he sold a car to the love of his life, Brenda Wallace. They began dating and married on June 17, 1972 and had 50 wonderful years together. Larry and Brenda settled down in Sands Springs and raised a family. Larry had his own lawn care and landscaping business for many years.
He loved raising racehorses and fishing. Larry took his horses all over the U.S. to race and had a very successful career. He loved to fish for stripers on the Illinois River with his son Michael. He often took his family to Gore to camp in his RV and fish all day. In his younger years he loved to hunt pheasant and deer and to play golf. Most importantly he loved his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents Charles McClain and Pansy McClain.
Larry is survived by his wife Brenda; sons Michael Paul and wife Julie, James Paul and wife Laura; daughter Andrea Doshier; brother Vernon McClain; sisters Shirley Gardner and husband Ron Smith, Anna Jean Bodemhamer; grandchildren Logan Rodgers and wife Abigail, Kiley Doshier, Colton, Riley, and Mikayla.
