Larry James Prather

Funeral service for Larry James Prather will be 2 p.m., Friday, May 13, at Victory Temple/Claremore Restoration Church of God with Rev. David Metz officiating. A horse drawn hearse will carry Larry to Oakhaven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thurs. 1-8 p.m.

Larry died Sun., May 8, 2011, at Claremore Regional Hospital at the age of 46.

The son of Ralph Phillip and Beverly Kay (Channel) Prather was born Aug. 23, 1964, in Tulsa. As a child Larry enjoyed playing baseball; and in high school he played football and wrestled. He graduated from Claremore High School in 1983. Larry worked as a brick mason for many years. He was a member of Brick Layer Local 5. Larry enjoyed motorcycle riding on his Harley, and antique cars.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Ashlee Nicole "Nikki" Prather; his father, Ralph Phillip Prather; fiancee, Melissa Mitchell; and his nephew, Seth Prather.

Larry is survived by his mother, Beverly Kay Prather of Claremore; brother, Ralph "Ray" Prather, Jr. and wife, Kim of Oologah; nieces: Tiffany Prather of Oologah, and Sheila Prather of Poteau; and nephew, Scotty Prather of Oologah.
