Laura Louann Anderson

September 8, 1929 — December 29, 2023

Chelsea

Laura Louann Snider Anderson went home to be with Jesus on Friday, December 29, 2023.  Louann was born September 8, 1929, at Chelsea Oklahoma to Walton Isaac and Laura Jackson Snider. She graduated from Chelsea High School in 1947.

Louann became a member of the Chelsea Assembly of God Church as a teenager.  She was always active in the church and dedicated to her Lord.

Louann married the love of her life William Leon Anderson on December 25th, 1947.  To this marriage were born three children, David Leon, Vicki Annette, and James Edwin.  They owned and operated Leon’s Auto Service in Chelsea and after the death of Louann’s parents, operated a cattle business on the family farm.  She lived all her life on the farm near Chelsea but loved to travel, with trips across the US and to Italy, France, and Great Britain.

From an early age, she had a gift for art, beginning with drawing and progressing to fine art. Louann taught oil and acrylic painting, fabric painting, and drawing to many students, always giving credit to the Lord for her talent.  Louann painted several murals in her church; among them are the baptistery painting of Christ’s Ascension, Noah’s Ark, and various scenes of Jesus and children in Classrooms.  She left a legacy of many beautiful paintings and ceramics.

In the early 1980s, Louann was the coordinator for the Chelsea Senior Citizens where she received the Citizen of the Year from the Chelsea Chamber of Commerce.  Louann was a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution, Pocahontas Club, Friends of the Library, International Decorative Painters, and Tulsa Town Tolers.

Louann was preceded in death by Leon, her beloved husband of 72 years, and her parents Walton and Laura Snider.  She is survived by, brother EJ Snider, sons David and wife Patsy Anderson, and James and wife Beth Anderson of Chelsea, daughter Vicki, and husband, Joe Brochtrup of Austin, Texas, Grandchildren, Ray and wife Chanda Anderson of Chelsea, Eric Anderson, Chandra and husband Miles Thompson of Loveland, Colorado, Andrea Junker of Barcelona, Spain, Bryan Junker and wife Frances Saldivar of Rosenberg Texas, Jennifer Anderson, Shanna and husband Andrew Mathews of Tulsa Oklahoma.  11 Great Grandchildren and one Great Great-Granddaughter.
