Memorial service for Laura Lee Candy will be10 a.m., Thurs., March 13, at First Baptist Church of Inola with Pastors T.J. Helling and Larry Beeler officiating.
Laura passed away Sat., March 8, 2014, at St. Francis Hospital, Tulsa, at the age of 52.
The daughter of Harley James and Marjorie (Stoddard) Davis was born Nov. 3, 1961, in Eugene, OR. The family lived in Oregon and Iowa before moving to Tahlequah when Laura was about 10 years old. On Nov. 9, 1979, Laura married Mark Anthony Candy. They made their home in Tahlequah for a couple of years before moving to Tulsa. For the past 20 years they have lived in Inola. Laura worked for Harvard Family Physicians in the Insurance Claims for many years. She was also a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. In her spare time she loved being outdoors. She loved riding horses, fishing, and in her younger years enjoyed riding motorcycles. Laura loved all animals, and taking care of her dogs.
Laura was the recipient of her father’s kidney in 1980, and her sister, Kris, in 2008. She was able to enjoy many more years with her friends and family due to their generosity.
Laura is survived by her husband, Mark of the home; son, Benjamin Anthony Candy and wife, Melissa of Inola; parents: Harley and Margie Davis of Welling; siblings: Kris Myers and husband, Bob of Mazie, Jim Davis and wife, Norma of Stilwell, and Tim Davis of Welling; grandchildren: Madeline and Vincent Candy of Inola; and many nieces and nephews.
