Lavern passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Hillcrest Hospital in Claremore. She was 75 years old.

The daughter of Emil and Wooldridge and Salley Irtle McGee Wooldridge was born November 20, 1943, in Mesilla Park, New Mexico. This is where she attended elementary school, then moved with her family to Pecos, Texas, where she graduated high school. After high school, she worked at the local hospital, and the local telephone company.

It was in Pecos that she met Lyle Marcotte, who worked for a seismograph company. His job involved a lot of traveling, so the two were wed in Cairo, Egypt on March 18, 1967. They lived overseas for a time, and began their family there, but in 1970, they returned stateside, living in Tulsa for awhile before making their home in Inola in 1973.

Laverne decided to return to the classroom, studying at Platt College. After she graduated, she began teaching life skills at the college. This became a 27-year career. She retired from the college in 2011.

In her spare time, Lavern enjoyed collecting angels, gardening, and spoiling her grandkids. She also loved horses, puppies, and football season. Her family loved her cooking, especially her mashed potatoes.

Lavern was preceded in death by her parents, son Timothy Marcotte, and brother Donald Wooldridge.

She is survived by her husband Lyle of their home; her son Donald Marcotte and wife Kristina, and her daughter Alisa Marcotte-Lucas and husband James; her grandchildren Keenin, Colton and Corbin Marcotte, Brennan Marcotte, Adam, Emma, Allie, Sidney and Bailey Liebherr; her siblings Emma Harris, Mary Hoffman, Francis Loden, Daniel Wooldridge, and Joe Wooldridge, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ESA Inola, or Catholic Charities.
