Funeral service for Lawanda Jane (Treadway) Hall will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at the Pleasant Hope Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hope Cemetery under the direction of the Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service and Crematory.
Lawanda Jane (Treadway) Hall passed away January 24, 2013 in Claremore at the age of 82.
The daughter of Porter and Iva Meeks Treadway was born September 12, 1930 in Catoosa, Oklahoma. As a young girl she and her family moved to Chelsea. There she attended Oak Grove School through the 8th grade. Then attended Chelsea High School. Graduating with the class of 1948. Wanting to continue he education she moved to Tulsa and attended Draughns Business School. That earned her a job working for Southwestern Bell Telephone. There she met Roy Eldridge Hall. August 4, 1950 they were married in Adair, Oklahoma. However a short time R.E took a leave of absence from the telephone company and joined the United States Airforce. That took Wanda to Hill Airforce Base in Utah. There she worked for the Airforce as a civilian employee. After R.E left the service he and Wanda moved back to Tulsa. Then she began working for Douglas Aircraft. After a short time back in Tulsa, she and R.E. moved to Chlesea. At that time Wanda began concentrating on raising her family. She decided to be a stay at home mother; however that didn't slow her down much. She was very active in taking care of the cattle, raising chickens, and doing the gardening. Other enjoyments for her were playing the piano, doing woodwork, and attending Pleasant Hope Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Porter and Iva Treadway; husband, Roy E. Hall, and brothers, Preston, Jimmy and Jeff Treadway
Survivors include her son Michael Roy Hall of Chelsea; brother, Joe Treadway of Claremore; sisters, Barbara Palmour of White Oak and Pauline Minson of Owasso along with many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
