Mrs. Peper passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at the age of 74.
The daughter of Walter and Vesta McMillian Holt was born January 8, 1936 in Mayes County, Oklahoma. She attended Adair public schools, and was a member of the graduating class of 1953. On May 31, 1954, Leona married George Martin Peper in Adair at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. They made their home in rural Chelsea. She worked hard to help her husband on the farm and raise her children. Leona was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran church, and enjoyed gardening, going to Branson, taking care of her yard, and spending time with her family.
Leona was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Vesta Holt, and siblings Elvin Holt, Melburn Holt, Lenora Couch, and Lela Johnson.
Survivors include her husband George of the home, her children: Allan Peper and wife Arlene, Mike Peper and wife Myra, and Doug Peper and wife Gina, all of Chelsea, and Debbie Walker and husband Leon of Claremore; her grandchildren: Allison Peper, Lindsey Peper, David Peper and wife Katelyn and Jason Peper and wife Sarah, all of Chelsea, also Shannon White and husband Justin, Steven Seabolt and wife Kimberly, Daniel Johnson, Amanda Lawhon and husband Eric, Kendel Walker, and Mandy Walker, all of Claremore, and Katie Peper of Broken Arrow; her great-grandchildren: Dylan and Addison White, Cash and Justus Vail, Titus and Addison Peper, Kaylee Seabolt, and Landon and Lucas Lawhon; and her siblings: Roxie Jameson, Letha Berg and husband Charlie, Leotha McKinney and husband Jack, Lena Martin and husband Jr., Gene Holt and wife Marge, and Delmar Holt and wife Linda. She will also be missed by many friends and loved ones.
