Leroy Harold Davis

Funeral service for Leroy Harold Davis will be 2 p.m., Mon., March 12, at the Chelsea Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Roger Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Chelsea Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Mon. 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Leroy died Wed., March 7, 2012, at Shady Rest Nursing Home, Pryor, at the age of 75.

The son of Harold W. and Irene Elsie Davis was born Aug. 20, 1936, in Chelsea. Leroy graduated from Chelsea High School in 1954, and continued his education at NEO and Panhandle State. He later received his certificate in auto mechanics from Okmulgee Tech. Leroy worked as Chairman of Mail in the Oklahoma Capital from 1969-72; and then went to work as a Steamboiler Operator in Enid for the State of Oklahoma from 1972-88. In 2002, Leroy moved back to the Chelsea area. He was a member of the Oklahoma Public Employee Association; and enjoyed fishing, traveling, and sight-seeing.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Alfred "Joe" Davis; and sister, Melva Davis.

Leroy is survived by his children: Timothy Davis of Shawnee, Pamela Johnson of Newella, and Phyllis Davis of Dallas, TX; brother, Ralph Davis of Grove; and sister, Wanda Payton of Pryor.
