Leslie Diann Dealy was born in El Dorado, Kansas on September 15, 1947 to her parents, William and Jacquelin Allmond. She passed on January 14, 2024 after a long battle with Dementia.
Leslie graduated from Circle High School in Towanda, Kansas in 1965. Leslie married James Siegenthaler Jr. in 1967 and had three children, Stacey in 1974, Bradly in 1976 and James Aaron in 1977. In 1987 at the age of 40, Leslie began working toward a degree in education. Leslie moved with her children to Liberal, Missouri in 1987 where she finished her bachelor’s degree and ultimately her master’s degree in education at Pittsburg State University in Kansas. She was always proud of her academic accomplishments and spoke often of it never being too late to learn. Leslie began teaching 2nd Grade in 1990 and eventually moved to Claremore, Oklahoma in 1995 where she began teaching for the Claremore Public School system. She was well known to be a no-nonsense, rule-abiding, no-excuses-tolerated type of educator (just ask some of her students). Leslie retired from teaching in 2016 at the age of 68.
Leslie enjoyed her friends, the theatre, stockpiling shoes and purses and creating files for files. She loved coffee and was rarely found without a package of cheddar cheese sandwich crackers. In her final years, Leslie was cared for by the extended family she found at Brookdale Assisted Living in Claremore. While in assisted living, Leslie discovered a love of wine and low impact exercise. Despite not always knowing where she was, Leslie was always trying to earn her keep by helping staff with their duties.
Leslie was predeceased in death by her parents and youngest brother, Mace Allmond. She is survived by sister Susan Erhardt and brother Dennis Allmond. Leslie is survived by her three children, Stacey Foxwell of Reno, Nevada, Bradly Siegenthaler of Claremore and Aaron Siegenthaler of Tulsa. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Daniel Benter, Alexzandra Benter, Gabriel Siegenthaler, Riley Siegenthaler and Reagan Siegenthaler. In Leslie’s final years, her daughter-in-law, Kari Siegenthaler, visited Leslie weekly, decorated her room for every holiday, delivered goodies and never missed an opportunity to celebrate Leslie. Kari made certain Leslie knew she was loved by her family.
