Memorial service for Linda Briggs will be 10:00a.m., Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at Faith Baptist Church. Linda passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025. She was 81.

Linda Kay Briggs was born on January 16, 1943, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to C.T. Nevels and Alva Florence (Shelley) Nevels. Linda was educated in Oktaha, where she attended school until the 11th grade. She later graduated from high school in Muskogee with the class of 1961. On December 27, 1962, she celebrated her marriage to Carl Francis Briggs at the Assumption Church in Muskogee, embarking on a journey of love and partnership that would span over six decades.

Her career spanned several establishments, including Muskogee Phoenix, J.C. Penney, Consumer Oil, and Frocks Dress Shop. However, Linda's primary vocation was as a bookkeeper at RCB Bank, a role she dedicated herself to until her retirement in 2000.

Linda was known for her kindness and caring nature. She had a profound love for her family and friends, and her greatest joy came from being with her grandchildren. As their biggest cheerleader, she devoted her time and energy to supporting them in every endeavor. In her faith, she found community at Faith Baptist Church, where she lovingly took care of the babies in the nursery, reflecting her nurturing spirit.

Linda was a cherished member of her community and a devoted supporter of her family. She is survived by her husband, Carl Briggs; her daughter, Carla Lynch and her husband Scott; her grandchildren, Grayson Lynch and wife Maddie, Connor Lynch and wife Hannah, Harry Lynch and wife Aspen, and Joe Lynch; her great-grandchildren, Theo Lynch and Hazel Lynch; and numerous nieces and nephews. Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Alva Florence Nevels; her father, C.T. Nevels; her stepmother, Jaunita Nevels; her son, Carl Jeffery Briggs; and her siblings, Theodore (Ted) Nevels, Betty Rich, and Dolly Wright.
