Memorial service for Lisa A. Violett will be 2:00p.m., Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Calvary Baptist Church in Inola, Oklahoma. Pastor Chad Thompson will share words of comfort. Lisa passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at St. John Medical Center. She was 52.
The daughter of Tom and Pam (Williams) Speed, was born October 8, 1963 in Burlington, Iowa. Lisa was reared and educated in Hiawatha IA. She graduated from John F. Kennedy High School with the class of 1981. On December 12, 1985 she married Kipp Violett in Iowa. The couple made their home in Iowa and moved to Atlanta in 1999, and then Inola OK in 2003.
Family was most important to Lisa and she devoted her time taking good care of them, especially those grandchildren. Her four legged companions also received her love. Lisa also enjoyed spending time planting flowers and watching humming birds. A strong and courageous lady, Lisa fought long and hard thru health challenges. Her lung transplant in 2008 afforded time to see six more grandchildren come into this world. Although she had limitations, Lisa made the most of each day by keeping in contact with her family and friends through social media and watching her favorite shows.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Lisa is survived by her husband Kipp of their home in Inola; her children Natasha Clark and husband Scott of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Geyson Violett and wife Lindsay of Verdigris, Hayes Violett and wife Haley of Claremore and Tricia Gilbert and husband Matt of Des Moines, Iowa; her grandchildren Adria, Alexa, Allie, Addy, Braydee, Berkley, Raelyn, Conor, Cairan, Carter and Karlee; parents Tom and Dixie Speed and Pam and Don Horner; her brothers Brent Speed, Ryan Speed and Eric Horner; her grandmother Twila Speed and her mother-in-law Peg Violett.
