Lois Eileen Blakely

Lois Eileen Blakely passed away June 4^th. She was born September 2, 1924 in Freeport, NY to Olive (nee Durand) and DeLos Johnson. She married Douglas Blakely June 15, 1946 and they were married more than 41 years until his death in 1988. Lois was a consummate animal lover. It was her life’s work to help people take care of their pets and get them spayed & neutered. She continued to do this work into her 90’s. She was an avid golfer and loved to play bridge, playing at least three times/week until 2020. She was preceded in death by her sisters (Fay, Vivian, and Ann), her husband, her son Kevin, and her grandson Ian Blakely. She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth (Martin) Haist, and son Douglas, her grandchildren [Michelle (Neal) Fairley, Jessica Blakely (fiancé Joey Caldwell), Cameron (Chelsea) Blakely, Connor Blakely, Christian Blakely, and Claire Blakely], and her great-grandchildren [Robert (Kyra) Fairley, Jonathan Fairley, Madison Blakely, and London Blakely]. Visitation will be at Musgrove Merriott Smith Funeral Home 102 W 5^th St, Claremore Friday June 9^th from 6-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Spay Oklahoma Inc. or Wild Heart Ranch.
