Funeral service for Lois Edna Brumback will be 2 p.m., Fri., Jan. 27, at First Baptist Church of Chelsea with Revs. Gerald Biswell and Charles Sandusky officiating. Burial will follow at Chelsea Cemetery under the direction of the Chelsea Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thurs. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 6-8 p.m.
Lois passed away Tues., Jan. 24, 2012, at St. John Hospital, Tulsa, at the age of 93 years and 11 months.
The daughter of Will and India Victory was born Feb. 26, 1918, in Reeds Spring, MO. The family came by covered wagon and located in Bristow, OK, when Lois was four years old. Later they moved to the Chelsea area where Lois attended Sunny Side School. Lois married Willard Brumback on April 9, 1936. To this union was born one son and two daughters. They farmed for several years before moving into town and running a full service gas station with Lois working along side her husband. Lois was a member of the Chelsea First Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willard; son, Lawrence "Bud" Brumback; granddaughter, Lisa Lachelle Ricks; son-in-law, Ralph Johns; and siblings: Calvin Victory, Ethyl Copeland, Wilma Victory, Edith Wilson, Pansy Wilson, Georgi Victory, and Pete Victory.
Survivors include her daughters: Shirley Ricks and husband, Tommy of Verdigis, and Susie Johns of Tulsa; grandchildren: Mark and Joan Ricks of Claremore, Matt and Cathy Ricks of Verdigris, India Sharrie and Brian Holt of Tahlequah, and Traci Carroll of Vinita; great-grandchildren: Monica and Jonny Danaher of Tampa, FL, Adam and Kimber Ricks of Wake Forest, NC, Amber Holt of Tulsa, Christney Holt of Tahlequah, Zane Ricks of Claremore, and Cheyenne and Cassidy Carroll of Vinita; sister, Ruby Ridenour of Plano, TX; and a host of nieces and nephews.
