Service for Lou Anna Nichols will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 12, 2018, at Rehoboth Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Lone Elm Cemetery under the direction of MMS-Payne Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Sunday, February 11 from 1-6 pm, with family receiving visitors from 4-6 pm.
Lou Anna passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2018. She was 82.
Born July 1, 1935 in Claremore, Oklahoma to Jessie T. and Anna (Foster) Davis, Lou Anna received her education here and graduated from Claremore High School. On April 28, 1952, Lou Anna married Billy Nichols in Huntsville, Arkansas. The newlywed couple then made their home in Claremore. Lou Anna worked the majority of her life for the Cherokee Nation. Her primary role was that as a CHR. She retired from there in the mid 1990's.
Devoted to her faith, Lou Anna was involved with Rehoboth Baptist Church and she enjoyed her church family. However, her own family was most important to her and, she was their greatest joy.
Those family members that survive include her children Kim Edward Nichols and wife Sherrie Lynn of Owasso, Ronnie Allen Nichols, Sr. of Claremore, Magen Ann Murphy and husband Dominic of Sequoyah, Branden M. "Brandie" Hines and husband Jay, also of Owasso and Ronnie Allen Nichols, Jr., also of Claremore; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Lou Anna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brothers, Roy Douglas Davis, Willard E. Davis, John K. Davis, Jess Ray Davis, Paul D. Davis and Sam H. Davis.
