Louis went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a long battle with cancer on Tues., Jan. 5, 2016, at his home at the age of 74.

The son of Leon Louis Jennings and Dortha Wanita (Conner) Jennings was born Dec. 16, 1941, in Riverside, CA. Around the age of 2, the family moved to Claremore where Louis attended school. On June 17, 1961 he married Raye Suzanne Haught in Miami, and they made their home in Claremore later moving to Catoosa.

Louis started as a teenager working in non-destructive testing and x-rayed all the gate arms on the navigation channel. He also served as an EMT on the ambulance that was part of the Claremore Fire Department at that time. He then worked with his father drilling water wells until starting his own drilling business also servicing oil and gas wells. He did a number of years truck driving before again working in nondestructive testing and retiring from Spirit Aero Systems in 2013.

Louis was a member of the Moose Lodge and New Life Baptist Church. Louis' life was all about taking care of his family. He was a selfless man, and his time was cut short on earth, but now he walks with the loved ones who have gone before him. He also enjoyed the outdoors, playing 1 arm bandits, and target shooting with his grandsons.

Louis was preceded in death by his parents; and infant sister, Linda Rae.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Suzanne of the home; children: Rae Nita Grubbs and husband, Brad, Laurel Babb and husband, Doug, and Margo Johnston and husband, Pat all of Claremore; brother, Richard Jennings and wife, Janette of Sioux Falls, SD; 7 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
