Graveside service for Marian "Louise" Scott will be 10 a.m., Sat., Aug. 22, at Council Hill Cemetery. Burial will follow under the direction of MMS-Payne Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Fri. 1-8 p.m.
Louise passed away Fri., Aug. 14, 2015, at Wood Manor Nursing Home at the age of 80.
The daughter of Marion Franklin Swadley and Mary Lee (Stone) Swadley was born Aug. 4, 1935, in Council Hill. She attended Council Hill school where she played basketball. At the age of 15 on Nov. 21, 1950, Louise married Leon Scott. Leon was serving in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Louisiana. She moved to Louisiana until Leon was deployed during the Korean War. She then moved back home and completed her high school education to graduate from Council Hill High School. When Leon returned from the war they made their home in Tulsa before moving to Claremore 50 years ago. Louise was a cook for Sequoyah schools for many years; and she was an avid reader with 100's of books throughout her home.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Leon in 2004; infant daughter, Judith Diane Scott; her parents; and brother, Leonard Swadley.
She is survived by her children: Michael Leon Scott and wife, Kathy of South Bend, IN, Mitchell Wayne Scott and wife, Connie of Benson, NC, and Barbara Scott of Claremore; sisters: Jean Brasuell and husband, Wallace of Broken Arrow, and Betty Carlton and husband, Lonnie of Midwest City; granddaughters: Krystal and Melissa Scott of Benson, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
