Memorial service for Lynne Jones will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at the MMS-Payne Funeral Home Chapel.
Lynne passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the age of 70.
The daughter of Harwin and Dorothy Davey Dawson was born on May 30, 1947 in Port Chester, New York. She was raised in New York, where she received her education at Tappan Zee High School. Graduating as a member of the class of 1965. It was also there that she first met. Kenn Jones. They would marry on June 25, 1967 in Northvale, New Jersey. In the years to follow Lynne followed Kenneth to Iowa and South Dakota where he was attending college. It was while at South Dakota that Lynne got her first job with the United States Postal Service. Over the next few years the family moved a few other times before settling in Broken Arrow in 1978. Once again Lynne began working for the U.S Postal Service. This time as a rural mail carrier. During this time she began attending college at Tulsa Junior College. Which allowed her the opportunity to climb the ranks of the Postal Service. In just a short time she became Postmaster. Serving most of the time in Inola and Dewar before retiring in 2005. After retirement Lynne and Kenn moved to Poinciana, Florida. She lived there until moving back to Broken Arrow in 2015.
In her spare time Lynne loved watching golf. Tiger Woods was one of her favorite players. She also enjoyed drinking Coca Cola, going on cruises, spending time at the beach, listening to Janis Joplin and getting involved in politics. However her favorite times were spent with her family and her little dog Pluto.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Kenn Jones.
Survivors include her daughters, Dawn Archer and husband Craig, Dustie Sappington and husband Shane and Desiree Dew; grandchildren, Caleb, Keely, and Camden Archer, and Brody, Sam and Abby Sappington; sister, Lancine Castellani and husband Jerry and grand-dogs Boomer and Ammo,
