Marcus W. Dennis

 Marcus William Dennis was born on April 25, 1958 in Hartshorne, Oklahoma to parents Avery and Patsy Dennis. He went home to be with the Lord on December 26, 2022 at the age of 64.

  Marcus grew up in Wilburton, Oklahoma attending Wilburton Public Schools where he  graduated with the class of 1976. He then went on to graduate from Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton, then began working at Pates Construction Company and then Johnson Controls in Poteau.  During this time, Marcus met the love of his life, Mary and they married on September 9, 1978 and began a family, adding three children to the home.  On December 7, 1981, Marcus was hired at PSO N.E. Station 3 &4 coal fired power plant in Oologah, OK where he worked as a technician until his retirement on April 19, 2019. 
    
  Growing up, Marcus was very active in the Boy Scouts of America earning the rank of Eagle Scout.  Marcus went on to be a boy scout leader for Troop 238 and Venture Scout Leader for troop 2238 where he watched both of his sons, as well as, several others from his troop become Eagle Scouts.  

  He loved hunting, fishing, going hiking, canoeing, and camping trips. Marcus also enjoyed a good tool auction, yard sales, tinkering and piddling with this or that. He was an active member of the Eastern Hills Baptist Church where he invested many hours of his time to building, remodeling, and repairing things throughout the buildings.  

   Marcus was preceded in death by, his Parents: Avery and Patsy Dennis; in-laws: Bill and Mary Duggan; grandparents; sister-in-law: Becky Duggan and Nephew: Hadyn Houston.
 
   Survivors include:  his wife; Mary Dennis of the home, daughter; Christina Keller and husband Tim of Claremore, sons; Oren Dennis and wife Tiffany of Sapulpa, Isaac Dennis and wife Charity of Sand Springs. Grandchildren; Kelsea Leal and husband Jorge, Zane Scrivner, Taygen Scrivner, Kylie Willis and husband Chase, Kayci Owen, Hailey Sisco-Isaak, Jadyn Dennis, Aubri Dennis and Grayson Dennis. Great Grandchildren; Gracey, Sophia, Jentry and Cassie. brothers and sisters; Ricky Dennis and wife June of Surprise, Arizona, Brenda Tubbs and husband Randy of Wilburton, Randy Dennis and wife Reva of Catoosa, Gail Wilson and husband Brent of Wilburton, Anita Houston of Wilburton, Jerry Duggan and wife Deb of Summerfield, Billy Duggan and wife Lisa of Wilburton, Scotty Duggan of Wilburton, Tammy Ketcher and husband Robert of Wilburton, Roy Duggan of Wilburton, Lacinda Gilby and husband James of Quitman, Arkansas, Chester Duggan of Wilburton, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
